Sunday Brunch: That One Time with Special Guest Nolana Lynch

Hello Everyone,

Nolana Lynch here! I am so very happy to be a guest designer this month for Color Cast Designs!

August! What a beautiful month of the year! Filled with so much excitement and promise. For us down under (in Australia), we've been enjoying a mild winter in Queensland. As this is the last month of winter, and we've been enjoying some beautiful sunny but cool days, we've been wanting to get as many adventures in as possible.

From the time I saw the kit, I knew I wanted to use this gorgeous title to document "this one time". We live in a pretty beautiful and trendy neighbourhood, and one of the things we always love doing is exploring all the wonderful cafes.

This one Cafe, was high on my list and I'd book to go last year, but it didn't pan out - so this one time - we were finally able to go!

I used the greens from the title, and the greyish blueish hues from the picture to guide the colour palette for the rest of the spread.

I pulled out all my blue and green distress sprays and a transparency to create this background.

I decided I wanted to document these stories in my Life-Crafted album - which I've been using to hold stories about myself this year.

I really love these butterflies and knew I has to include them in the spread! I created little Clusters with the butterflies and some of the August wood veneer pieces.

I love me a tag and a vellum pocket - so these are some staples in my spreads! I created a white embossed pattern on the vellum using a large mum flower stamp and white pearl embossing powder.

I then backed the pocket with a jewel green hexagon paper, punched an eyelet into the tag and added some seam binding ribbon.

I truly adore this spread and love how the amazing Color Cast elements add such beautiful dimension and texture to the spread.

Thanks for stopping by,

Nolana
