Summertime Stories

Greetings!

Today, our featured designer is Emma, and she’s sharing a vibrant and warm project. The eye-catching orange acrylic phrase from our June kit, along with colorful strips of stitched paper, directs attention to Emma’s photo. Isn’t it delightful?! Now, let’s dive into all the details from Emma.

“Hey Color Cast Fam, I have a really colourful one for you today using the 'Summer Summer Summertime' acrylic piece from the May release. I know y'all are singing the 'Summertime' song right now.”

“I began this page by cutting the stripes of a patterned paper from the Jen Hadfield 'Reaching Out' collection, varying the length of each stripe whilst figuring out my placement. I then used a small dot of glue to keep the stripes in place so I could machine stitch centrally along each stripe.”

“Next, I added my photo along with my title, which I backed with white cardstock. The acrylic piece was slightly translucent but I wanted it to shine alongside the bright colours of the Reaching Out collection, I also wanted the summertime letters to be filled, white cardstock is great for bringing out the colour.”

“I used fussy cut flowers & icons to surround my photo, then ruffled up the edges of each stripe to add dimension. To finish, like always, I added some sparkle. Until next time, Much love Em x”
