Oh, Those Lazy Summer Days!

Today we are featuring an amazing project by creative team member Emma Kate. The stitched rainbow background features a cute summer acrylic from our July kit. Here’s all the details from Emma.
“Hey Color Cast Fam, this months layout all stemmed from the beautiful teal colour of the 'Lazy Summer Day' acrylic piece. Whilst flicking through my scrapbook stash I found a perfect colour match within Cocoa Vanilla Studio 'Happy Days' collection.”
“I began my page by separating each colour of the rainbow from the 'Rainbow Bright' patterned paper. I then remounted the pieces back to their original position onto some white cardstock using a small dot of glue to keep the sections of the rainbow in place so I could machine stitch along each edge.”
“Next, I added my photo & placed my 'Lazy Summer Day' title just over lapping the bottom right hand corner. I chose to print my photo in black & white because it really popped against the bright colours of the rainbow.”
“To add more interest I fussy cut some butterflies & placed them tone on tone to my rainbow, only using adhesive down the centre of each butterfly so I could lift up their wings. Furthermore I ruffled up the edges of each rainbow colour along the stitching to add dimension.”
“To finish, I wrote my journalling along the top edge of my rainbow & added a sprinkle of white sequins & gems. Teal is definitely one of my favourite colours when it comes to scrapbooking, what's yours? Until next time, Much love, Em x”
