Birthday Shenanigans and Party Vibes

Hello CCD fans,

We have a sweet birthday layout from creative team member Emma of @createwithemmakate on IG. Emma designed this lovely 12x12 single-page layout documenting her daughter’s birthday celebration. Emma’s project is a delightful mix of pattern, color, fun photos, and the perfect acrylic title to highlight this special day. Let’s hear more about this layout and all the details from Emma.

“Hey Color Cast Fam, I'm here documenting my little girl's 8th birthday party using the 'Birthday Shenanigans' title piece from the March release. Using the 'Imagine That' collection from Echo Park it created the perfect colour & theme partnership.”

“My layout began with a piece of patterned paper cut to 10x8in, & from the top I had all of the character stickers creating a huge cluster of #partyvibes, you've just gotta love the tea drinking mermaid! To fill in the gaps I used fussy cut flowers & the smaller stickers like the bubbles & stars.”

“I then put my 2 photos central to the page & added my 'Birthday Shenanigans' title just below that. It was at this point I felt that my patterned paper background was a little flat so I hand stitched a few lines in colour coordinating embroidery thread to give it some texture.”

“Next typed out my journalling using the 'Palatino Linotype' font within Word then cut into strips & placed them underneath the title. To finish I added a splattering of my favourite sequins & gems.”

“Until next time, much love, Em x”

All the “birthday shenanigans” details in Emma’s layout are lovely including the stitching, sequins, journaling strips and white space filled with fun ephemera!
