A Design Idea for Documenting the Little Things

Hello friends,

Today I’m sharing a design with the “Little Things” acrylic from the August everything kit. I love to talk about the ordinary everyday things which are the true secret to a happy life.

I am scrap lifting this design idea from Lorilei Murphy of @roseyposey_studio whose layout is about summer things. I really liked the three journaling spots and the simple ephemera clusters with some stamping she created on her layout. I did something a bit different with my stamping.

For my design, I wanted two full pages outside the pocket. On the left I chose a 7x8.75 photo to hold my title. I really like the fact that my photo shows through the acrylic piece almost as though it’s a part of the plant. The pink hue in the flowers and acrylic play off each other in a way that makes it feel like they belong together.

The journaling side is actually a digital paper I resized to 7x8.5 and printed in greyscale on matte photo paper. My journaling spots were printed on plain paper with torn edges that are sanded, and I’ve added a bit of hand-stitching to add texture.

My layout is about the importance of flowers in my life and the different ways I have been able to incorporate them in my backyard paradise.
