The Ever-Changing Colors of Life

Hello CCD friends,

When I received the September everything kit, I fell in love with the “changing colors” wood veneer and made it a focal point in a story about the intersection of color and life. I knew this layout would live in my 2022 story album because I wanted to work with the larger 10x8 canvas. In addition, I love to create designs with repeating shapes and this size allowed me to use several, including squares, sprigs, leaves and rectangles.

I spent a lot of time stamping and fussy cutting my springs and leaf embellishments, but it was totally worth it. The sapphire blue leaves are obviously not realistic, but this story is about color and blue is my favorite!

I totally appreciate the warmth my wood veneer title adds to the layout especially after I began to gravitate toward the cooler hues for my springs.

My tag photo isn’t something I would normally put in a spread, but I’ve been taking a lot of Heidi Swapp classes and she is an interactive master! My vellum pockets include double-sided journaling squares which means there are a lot of words in this design, and I love that too. It was really important for me to have multiple spots for journaling and quotes.

I hope you’ll share what you are making with your CCD shop items on social media. Please be sure to tag @colorcastdesigns or including our hashtag #colorcastdesigns in your post. We may share your post in our stories.

Happy crafting!
