Our ‘Amazing’ Time Together

Hello CCD fans,

Today I am sharing a bonus layout with the big acrylic word, ‘Amazing', from our July kits. I love the color of the acrylic and have enjoyed seeing it in scrapbooking spreads made by our CCD family and friends. If you are interested in the July kit, there are a few left in our shop here.

I started my project with a background paper that I hand-stitched to add texture while still showcasing the paper’s pattern. I used three strands of DMC floss to stitch most, but not all, of the paper. The homemade feel from the imperfect stitching really appeals to me.

Next, I fussy cut leaves from another 12x12 paper in the collection and added texture to them with a scoring board. Played around quite a lot with a few bits of ephemera and a couple of die cut leaves made with papers from the 6x8 paper pad before adhering them in place. The final touches for this layout are the ombre glitter drops and my journaling.

For me, it was important to ensure the photo was the star of the show and to not overwhelm the stitching which is why the embellishments are minimal. The stitching was easy but it did take some time to poke holes and complete. Oh, and by the way, this layout was created with the Discover and Create paper collection by Vicki Boutin.
