One Way to Bring Two Different Stories Together in a Layout

Hello CCD friends,

I love shopping my CCD stash when I want two very different stories to sit side by side in my album. On the blog today I am sharing a layout I created using the “May” acrylic and wood veneers from my little CCD reserve. My two-page spread is brought together with a color scheme, hand stitching and a flower theme.

This year I am using a 10x8 album to tell stories in whatever format or size I want to use at the moment. It has been freeing in a way because this size gives me many options. I decided I wanted to mark the start of May with a pocket page of azaleas blooming in my flower beds. In addition, early May is our wedding anniversary and I wanted to include a 5x7 photo of my husband and I to mark the occasion on the opposite page.

I decided on a color scheme that matched the photos of my azalea’s and chose the May acrylic because of its translucency which worked well with the vellum butterflies.

On the opposite page I layered paper and wood veneers to carry the flower theme across the pages. I also opted to keep the photo of my husband and I in color vs black and white. Just my way of calling out the specialness of this photo.

It would be wonderful to see what you are making with our kits and any items you may have in your CCD stash. To ensure we see what you are making, please @colorcastdesigns or use our hashtag #colorcastdesigns in your social media posts.

Happy crafting!
