My Little Reading Nooks

Hello friends,

Autumn is just around the corner and I’m super excited about that! Curling up in a comfy chair, wrapped in a soft blanket, with the crisp autumn air outside and a warm drink in hand is simply magical. Today, I’m sharing a project I made using an add-on acrylic from our August shop release. This fall, I plan to document the books I’ve read this year, starting with some of my favorite reading nooks around our home.

The background for my layout was created with a whimsical cut file included in a kit from Paige Evans. In addition, I am using one of my favorite paper collections from Vicki Boutin called Discover + Create.

The first thing I did after stitching the background is create the little leaves from the “Daily News” paper in the 6x8 paper pad with an autumn die set Next I chose various items from the paper and sticker ephemera in the collection and popped most of the items up with foam tape or dots.

My final steps included creating the journaling on sticker paper and adhering the “book nook” acrylic as my layout title.

As my journaling notes, I do not have a specific place I read in our home, rather I have several places where you can find me reading or listening to a book. And sometimes music too! Do you have a favorite place to read or listen to books and music?

We enjoy seeing what you are creating with our shop add-on items and invite you to share with us on social media by tagging @colorcastdesigns or including our hashtag #colorcastdesigns. If you tag us, we may feature you in our IG stories!

Happy creating!
