“Lookin’ Good” Painted in the Colors of Fall
Hello friends,
Our design team is currently working with the November kits, and I fell in love with the “lookin’ good” acrylic and had to use it in my 2024 story album. My story album is actually a set of two 6x8 white albums from Scrapbook.com. This is my favorite album size and one I feel most comfortable working in. All the kits and add-ons from Jessica’s shop work beautifully in this size album and I like to use items in my layouts to give the eye a rest from pockets.
For this project I wanted to incorporate the “lookin’ good” acrylic and a photo from one of my walks around the neighborhood with our pup Haley. The acrylic is super cute and I knew exactly which photo I wanted to highlight with it. I chose the Cocoa Daisy October paper collection and kept my spread simple by choosing to use a pocket card as part of my title. I love layering white on white in clean and simple layouts. To ensure the pocket card portion of the title stood out, I tore across the bottom of the card and layered another pocket card with simple lines underneath.
To create my three clusters, I chose similar chipboard leaves and popped up one of the matching leaf die cuts. I usually trim off most of the white edging on my die cuts but in this case, I wanted to match the chipboard ephemera. The orange enamel dots are from my stash.
I backed my 5x7 photo with white cardstock and layered it on a 6x8 paper from the paper collection. The final touch was to add my acrylic title and an avery tab stamped with a phrase. My journaling is printed on matte label paper and the tag is stitched on the edge of my page so that it can be used to turn it.
As always, I truly enjoyed documenting this story because playing with paper is my jam. We encourage you to share what you are making with our products on your social media. Tag @colorcastdesigns or join our private Facebook group here so that we can give you some love!
Happy December!
