Layout Using “The Great Outdoors” Wood Veneer

Hello friends,

Today I am sharing a layout I made with old and new wood veneer ephemera from the shop. My design is a combination 12x12 spread with a 6x12 pocket page to document one of the many hikes my son has taken this year in the PNW.

I started with a 12x12 piece of white cardstock and ripped a circle from the center. Then I backed the white cardstock with patterned paper. Next, I hand stitched around the torn circle, stamped and fussy cut many pine trees. and mountains in various coordinating ink colors.

I then positioned the wood veneer title and subtitle, trees and mountains on my layout and added stamping directly on the background to mimic the forest floor.

The final part of my process was hand stitching a border around my 12x12 page and creating the pocket side of this two-page spread.
