“Follow Your Dreams” Project with CT Member Emma Kate
Hello CCD fans,
Today we are featuring a gorgeous project created by Emma Kate, a CT member from the UK. Emma’s project showcases the exclusive August kit acrylic, “follow your dreams.” Now lets hear all the details of this delightful layout from Emma.
“Hey Color Cast Fam, usually I know what I'm going to do with my Color Cast goodies before they even reach me but on the odd occasion when I'm not so sure I just pick my favourite piece then flick through my scrapbooking stash & select something that works colour or theme wise. The August kit was full of bright colours so when I came across Vicki Boutins Color Story collection, I was like 'Bingo!'“
“I started with the 'Array of Colours' patterned paper, the colours matched the 'Follow Your Dreams' title acrylic piece perfectly. With the patterned paper being so busy I didn't want to add much more but decided to add a little texture by cutting the rays into strips, distressing the edges, then machine stitching them back onto white cardstock.”
“Next I placed my photo centrally, I used a back & white photo so it would stand out against all the colour, plus the ephemera bulldog clip at the top. I placed my title piece just below the photo but before I did I painted the back of the letters & heart with white acrylic paint so they would be less transparent.”
“I love the little pops of white that poke through the rays, I think it compliments the white of the title & adds depth to my page. To finish, I added my journalling & some colour coordinating sparkly bits. Until next time, Much love, Em x”
