‘Adventure Is Out There’ with Emma Kate
Greetings!
Today we are featuring this stunning project by creative team member Emma Kate. It’s absolutely gorgeous and features one of our June kit items, the soft blue ‘adventure is out there’ acrylic. Here’s all the details from Emma.
“Hey Color Cast Fam, I'm here to share my layout using the 'Adventure Is Out There' acrylic title from the May release, I absolutely love titles like this because it can be used for so many occasions, life is full of adventures! To my delight the colour of the acrylic piece matched my little girls jumper in the photo & I paired them both with the soft colours of the 'Krafty Garden' collection from 49th & Market.”
“To begin, I cut out a square at an angle in the centre of my patterned paper, I did so by marking the centre point of each side, an inch in from the edge, then joining them together & cutting out the square. I also used a darker patterned paper to give the cut out square a frame, however I just eyeballed this as I could use first square as a guide.”
“I mounted my patterned paper to white cardstock, being careful only to use adhesive around the edge of my layout because I wanted to tuck things under the cut out square. I placed my photo on the right side of my page & from there added numerous layers of ephemera.”
“To balance out the sky blue in my photo, I added the 'Adventure Is Out There' title to the left side of my page, again surrounding it with ephemera. To finish I added a sprinkling of gems in complimentary colours.”
